Colosseum Guide
Perhaps the most long-standing tradition in regards to Nemeion entertainment is the raising and battling of formidable creatures in exchange for a purse, or sometimes other rewards. The group offers various different matches, please read them in detail below to understand what they do. These matches are never to-the-death, though severe injuries can be acquired. Combat matches are instead used as a means of showcasing the strength of one's animal, entertaining the rich and poor patrons of the colosseum, and earning a hefty reward.

Munera
You will draw your lion in combat with an "NPC" of your own invention, or from another ARPG species (depending on whether or not that species allows their characters to be drawn in combat - if you're not sure, please ask that group out of courtesy.) You may also use one of the Caesar's lions as your opponent. Up to three lions may fight, but at least one opponent must be depicted per each participant (multiple opponents may be depicted per one participant if you choose.)

►Complete a full body (at least 80% with flexibility for perspective/composition) colored image with a moderately complex background, set anywhere you desire. You do not have to follow the canon setting of the roman Colosseum, however, both cats must be depicted as adults and in a form of legitimate combat (i.e. not playing with each other, etc.)
►The opponent must be depicted in at least 50% body, and follow all other requirements. Shading for both is optional.
►Alternatively, you can choose to write at least 900 words of literature, which must take placing during the fight and include the opponent(s) and your lion(s) as roughly equal parts of the story.
►Once completed submit your entry to the Colosseum Entries folder in the Activities section of the gallery with the following form included in the description:

Vindictam Proelium (VPS)
As an alternative to Munera, you can challenge someone else to a duel, or Vindictam Proelium. No side may draw a lion "winning" nor depict any fatal harm coming to a lion. Only two lions may fight. Both cats must be depicted as adults and in a form of legitimate combat (i.e. not playing with each other, etc.) The match results will be rolled randomly, though certain things can influence your chances; such as items, training, and armor. There is no time limit.

Participating in the Colosseum does not come without consequences. Occasionally your Nemeion may come away with debilitating injuries, which negatively impact their ability to participate in other areas of the group. Injuries can be healed by using either an Herbal Poultice or Bandages on the Ranks, Training, & Injuries thread. Bandages may be purchased from the Bazaar. Herbal Poultices may only be crafted. |
